Back in 2004 Guitar Centre purchased the original 1964 Cherry ES-335 owned by Eric Clapton for a staggering $847,500. This guitar had become known as the "Cream Guitar" due to the word "Cream" spray painted in large letters on the side of the case.
In 2015 Gibson Custom Shop in conjunction with Guitar Centre & Eric Clapton, released a worldwide limited run of 250 replica Eric Clapton "Crossroads" ES-335 guitars. Each guitar is a detailed reproduction of the ES-335 in the condition it was sold to Guitar Centre in 2004. It even comes with a replica hard case. The label inside the body of each guitar was hand signed by Eric Clapton. Cosmetic details unique to this instrument include the serial number, "HARE KRISHNA" sticker on the rear of the headstock, stenciled hardshell case, and belt wear on the back.
This guitar is number #207 of the limited run.
