7 Reasons not to miss the Liverpool Guitar Show!
On Sunday 14th October, the Liverpool Guitar Show takes place from 10:30am – 4pm in the Park Hotel in Netherton, Aintree. It promises to be a brand new guitar event that the North West of the UK has yet to see. With most guitar shows focusing on independent traders and local shops to fill up their stands, we have decided to break from the norm and bring you an event that is less of a guitar show, and more of an experience.
Here are 7 reasons why you should already have a ticket!
1 – A Guitar Show With a Difference
The Liverpool Guitar Show looks to inform and educate show-goers, as well as entertain – Q&A sessions, clinics and seminars will be happening throughout the day. We will play host to some of the best brands in the industry, who will be there to provide insight into their products. Key speakers include:
• Adrian Thorpe of ThorpyFX – Adrian will host a clinic that will include a seminar on the building process of boutique effects, as well as a Q&A session and meet & greet.
• Line 6/Yamaha Product Demonstrator Stuart Shields – Stuart will be hosting a Line 6 clinic where he will put the flagship guitar processor through its paces. He will demonstrate its tonal capabilities, and explain the differences between the various units.
• Patrick James Eggle, Victory Amplification and more will be there, welcoming you to their stands to ask questions and get a closer look at their products.
…That’s a lot of show for the money!
2 – Major Brands, Quality Stands
Our list of brands includes:
Marshall, Orange, Victory, Roland/Boss, Taylor, PRS, Patrick James Eggle, ThorpyFX, Flattley Guitar Pedals, Blackstar, Gordon Smith, Yamaha, Line 6, Audio Distribution Group (Responsible for Darkglass, Meris, Two Notes, Neunaber, Maxon, Providence, Fulltone, Stone Deaf FX and Earthquaker Devices, among many more).
Each brand will have a stand of their own products, which you can try and purchase at discounted show prices. Speak directly with the companies, and learn everything you want to know about their range of products!
3 – Local Event, Global Brands
Where most guitar shows are in large multi-floored venues with over 1000 attendees, the Liverpool Guitar Show is a local affair with a 250 person capacity. This means all the great gear and brands mentioned above can be enjoyed on a more intimate scale.
Reduced foot traffic and background noise means you can try out more gear (and hear yourself while you’re doing it), and ask those all-important questions before making your purchase. Feel free to chat with any of our team on the day!
We will also be launching Tonebuddy – our exciting new pedal rental service. Get access to over 500 production line, hand wired or boutique pedals, for one monthly subscription fee. That means you can get the biggest and best from Strymon, Origin Effects, Wampler, Chase Bliss Audio & More, for just £30.00 a month. It’s that simple. When you’ve had enough, send it back and get something else, or buy the unit at a discount.
Catch us at the show to learn more and keep eyes on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for more Tonebuddy information.
4 – Fantastic Show Deals on All Stock
We haven’t strayed from guitar show tradition here, and for good reason – everyone loves a deal.
We’ll have a great deal of great deals for you to enjoy, with excellent prices on Sound Affects stock (including massive reductions on all 2017 PRS models). You will be able to get show-priced gear directly from the manufacturers too – all this for one day only!
We are welcoming part-exchanges on the day so bring your trades for us to look at – you might end up leaving with that ‘something special’ as a result!
5 – Giveaways, Giveaways, Giveaways!
…Did we mention giveaways?
And we’re not just talking about free picks here – Some of the brands coming to the show have put forward some excellent prizes for you to win. As well as these giveaways, string & accessories company D’addario are hosting a free re-stringing event. That’s worth your fiver right there really…
Finally Strings & Things ltd., the UK company behind Ernie Ball Music Man will be bringing a special guest along in the form of the devil himself. If you think you have what it takes to out-shred the devil crossroads-style, you could win yourself a Sterling by Music Man guitar!
6 – Excellent performances by industry professionals
We have some serious talent playing at the show throughout the day. Aziz Ibrahim – known for his guitar work with Ian Brown, Asia, Simply Red among others – Will perform a set and discuss his career. Well worth your attention!
Some younger talent is present in the form of Billy Watman – a classical/fingerstyle player, known for his success as the winner of Sky Arts Guitar Star 2016 hosted by Edith Bowman and Huey Morgan. Billy incorporates FX and looping into his classical style, breathing new life into well-known songs.
Also on the bill are the phenomenal David Beebee, Dan Smith & Dave Brons, from the live YouTube show & Podcast, The Guitar Hour. These legato legends will be around on the day chatting & performing and will be recording a live broadcast of the guitar hour right at the heart of the show.
7 – A Fantastic Guitar Experience Overall
The Liverpool Guitar Show looks to be an event to remember; something you will want to come back to, year after year. With an easy access venue, a bar directly in the show, immediate outside parking and fast entry into the event, the whole day will be relaxing, informative and entertaining – and you can experience it all for just £5.00 – half the price of your average guitar show ticket.
So get to booking, and get excited – we’ll see you at the show!
