Novation Launch Control XL now controls you DAW

Novation have just released a firmware update for the popular Launch Control XL so that it can control additional DAWs such as Cubase, Logic and Pro Tools. Now that the perfect, affordable mixing controller will suit many more producers we are sure to see them in many more studios worldwide.

Novation are proud to announce that with support for Mackie’s HUI protocol built in, Launch Control XL now works with Cubase, Logic and Pro Tools, mapping its sliders, rotaries and buttons to their mixers’ volume faders, pan pots, mute and solo buttons, and more.

So what’s new?

It’s a new firmware release (Downloadable from the Novation website) that includes the below features:

Use the LCXL to control any DAW that supports HUI
Faders will automatically map to the mixer
The pots above the faders control pan and sends (selectable)
The top two rows of pots remain independent for MIDI learn
The buttons below the faders will control track select
The bottom row of buttons will control mutes, solos or record arm your tracks
