Utilising new technology created by Thomas of Cream T Pickups it is now possible to scan, profile and recreate 100% replicas of legendary guitar pickups.
Cream T have set out to revolutionise the pickup market using the ‘Oracle Pickup Scanner’.
…and what better place to start than Bernie Marsden’s legendary ‘Beast’ 1959 Les Paul guitar.
For the first time in history Bernie has allowed Thomas to take apart the pickups in ‘The Beast’ to assess what they are made of, scan the profile and recreate 100% exact clones.
Introducing ’The Bernie Buckers’
A set of humbucker pickups that sound exactly the same as the pickups in the legendary 1959 Les Paul that has been used on countless recordings and often loaned to Joe Bonamassa.
Under controlled conditions the original ‘Beast’ pickups were measured at 8.56k in the bridge and 8.30k in the neck. The magnet strength was also measured to ensure a clone that equals the tone of the original pickup.
Bernie was present during the analysis of ‘The Beast’ pickups and got to hear the clones in action when Thomas presented an A/B comparison of the original ‘Beast’ and ‘Bernie Bucker’ pickups back to back.
They sounded so alike Bernie could not tell the difference!
